Data-Entry-India.com, the dedicated data management wing of SunTec India, recently supported an Australia-based Public Library in creating a digital collection of newspaper archives from 1990 to 2010 in less than four months. The project was aimed at helping the client save storage space, boost productivity and reduce maintenance costs, while making it easy for the readers to access and retrieve newspapers.

Our team of 15 professionals digitized entire newspapers of 20 years, approximately equal to 1, 50,000 pages and achieved text accuracy of 99.95%. We used high-speed, high volume document scanners to scan and produce 300 DPI grayscale images. We also split dual images into individual newspaper images, crop borders, de-skewed and de-speckled the images to make sure that they are clean and attractive.

"We used state-of-the-art technology to deftly scan and digitize newspapers, which was otherwise a challenging task. We delivered the multi-page searchable files per newspaper issue named by the year, month, and date of publication, making it easy for the users to access them from any location and any year," said Mr. Sugeet Wahal, Vice President, Digital Content Conversion Division at SunTec India.

Data-Entry-India.com, the dedicated data processing and management division of SunTec India has been awarded a new business in the Order Processing space by one of the leading US based company engaged in in REO (Real Estate Owned) and PPO (Property Preservation Organization), professional landscaping, repair and rehabilitation and inspection services.

As part of the agreement, Data-Entry-India.com will support the client with end-to-end order processing services right from verifying, editing and uploading before and after pictures taken for proof of workmanship, generating work details and invoice for payment, creating bids on extra / new work, etc.

SunTec completes a project of digitalising historic documents which were made available as images converted into PDF files. These PDF documents needed to be double key entered for 100% text accuracy and then transformed into valid XHTML 1.1 documents according to document type definition provided by W3C. The pages included French and German language and non-Unicode characters.

SunTec's Forms Processing division bags a project for fielding (adding interactive form fields to a PDF) about 4,000 forms from a US based firm specializing in business form and data collection automation software. The process requires acquiring the PDF forms, fielding them (including advanced form fielding using Visual Basic and Java Script) and conducting an elaborate QA/QC process to populate the PDF Forms.

Despite many unforeseen challenges, SunTec has implemented systems and core processes to ensure top notch results. We did this by setting up a dedicated team of 50+ full-time staff to meet the strict turnaround and quality requirements of this important project.

The Norwegian Library of Talking Books and Braille (NLB) executes an agreement with SunTec's XML conversion division for the production of text in DTBook format from print originals. NLB produces books in the DAISY format.

DTBook format (Digital Talking Book) : The new file format is based on an ANSI NISO standard and the text portions of it are referred to as Digital Talking Book (DTBook), an XML standard coordinated by the DAISY Consortium and the Library of Congress' National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS).

The non-profit DAISY Consortium is promoting DAISY XML standards throughout the world. SunTec is providing conversion to DTBook, beginning this year to TPB and NLB.

SunTec's eLearning division has bagged a year-long project to deliver e-learning modules for a Fortune 100 company. The project involves creating a storyboard, script writing, and Flash animations.

The Swedish Library of Talking Books and Braille (TPB) executes an agreement with SunTec's XML conversion division for the production of text in DTBook format from print originals. TPB produces in the DAISY format, and is a member of the board of the DAISY Consortium.
The agreement is made for:

  • OCR and proof-reading text
  • Scanning and correction of images
  • Mark up in accordance with the DTBook standard - including markup of mathematics, physics and simpler chemistry

SunTec's Document Imaging and Indexing Services division has secured a project to digitize 90 years of journals for a government body in UK . The project to be completed within 12 weeks will require converting archives for use in a digital library. The job will involve scanning, indexing OCR and XML tagging the archives, some of which are very old and fragile.
